Carter Jonas takes over Cambridge specialist

Specialist Cambridge land and property practice H W Dean & Sons is merging with Carter Jonas.

The merger will be effective from 1 April.

The team at H W Dean, which is led by partners Alec Tompson and Richard Morris, will relocate to Carter Jonas’ Cambridge office within the next few months.

There will be a few overlapping areas where restructuring will take place and staff consultations are already underway.

This latest merger comes almost a year after Carter Jonas merged with property consultancy, Dreweatt Neate, and is part of a strategic programme by the firm to expand and strengthen its rural practice.

Carter Jonas chief executive Mark Granger said: “H W Dean is a well-established practice, with a highly respected pedigree in rural land, estate management and property matters.

"For us, the natural fit of both firms was an obvious reason to do this.

"This will bring new opportunities as well as the added benefit of being part of a national practice."

H W Dean's Tompson added: “We are delighted to announce the merger of H W Dean and Carter Jonas, which will enable us to continue providing a high level of service to our clients as well as offering them access to the wealth of expertise available within Carter Jonas.”
