Brockton chief calls for greater private equity transparency
Private equity has to do a better job in explaining what it does, how, and why it does it, according to the head of private equity firm Brockton Capital.
Brockton's co-managing director David Marks said he believed his company's accountability to investors made it as transparent as a listed REIT, but to an outsider, companies like his weren't very accessible.
Marks was talking today at the Movers & Shakers breakfast, in association with the British Property Federation, at The Dorchester in London.
He added that some of his biggest investors, and other companies like his, were pension funds, meaning private equity companies return as much societal value as a landed estate.
