£130m Birmingham scheme to deliver 414 homes

HBD has lodged proposals for a £130m Jewellery Quarter scheme, dubbed Neighbourhood.

The plans include 414 homes comprising a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom flats, as well as private gardens, roof terraces, social spaces, gym, lounge, work-from-home areas and on-site concierge.

The development would see the complete transformation of the former Sytner car site.

Simon Raiye, director at HBD, said: “We have had a very positive reaction to our plans for Neighbourhood and have considered and reacted to a number of suggestions following the consultation event. It’s great to be able to submit planning and begin to move forward with our vision for the site.”

Subject to planning permission being granted, HBD hopes to start on site in mid-2023.

Neighbourhood is HBD’s second project within the Jewellery Quarter, with construction work on its Setl development well underway.
