Agents briefed to serve up Gherkin

Savills and Deloitte Real Estate have been instructed to sell the Gherkin at 30 St Mary Axe, EC3.

The fully let 516,000 sq ft building is expected to attract bids in excess of £600m when it comes to market later this year.

IVG and Evans Randall bought the Foster + Partners-designed building for £630m in 2006 but it was put into receivership this April after on-going defaults on a £396m loan.

Deloitte Real Estate partner Julian Stocks declined to comment on the instruction but said the consortium
