London Green and Prospect Capital have been given approval by the Old Oak and Royal Park Development Corporation for a 147-home residential scheme on a 140m strip of the Grand Union canal in Scrubs Lane, NW10.
The Mitre Wharf development will span two buildings of eight and nine storeys and provide 147 homes, 20% of which will be affordable. They will also offer 6,500 sq ft of commercial space as well as leisure and canalside amenities.
The site, currently occupied by a tyre supplier, is located within the 1,600-acre regeneration area of west London.
The scheme falls within the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, which recommended its refusal for the scheme in a planning meeting earlier this year due to the shortage of affordable housing provided in the scheme.
Harry Keen, senior associate at London Green, said: “Our proposals were developed through extensive collaboration with OPDC officers and key local stakeholders to create a scheme which not only integrates with but enhances the immediate environs and will provide a focal hub for existing and new communities in this key regeneration area.”
