Edinburgh-based self-storage warehousing provider, Armadillo, has been sold to the property and infrastructure arm of HSBC for £40m.
The sale of the company, founded by self-storage entrepreneur Alister Jack in 2003, follows the sale of Jack’s previous company, Aardvark Self Storage Ltd, which was sold to Mentmore Spaces for £30m in September 2002.
The company operates ten stores in Dundee, Derby, Hull, Liverpool, Peterborough, Sheffield, Stockton and Stoke, with two in Liverpool and Sheffield.
