Assura seeks secondary listing

Healthcare REIT Assura is applying for a secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

The group said it believed that admission of trading of shares to the JSE would be beneficial to the company and shareholders by increasing liquidity.

Chief executive Johnathan Murphy said: “As the UK’s leading diversified healthcare REIT, Assura offers an attractive proposition to South African investors, who we look forward to welcoming on to our share register. Our high-quality assets offer long-term secured and growing income, underpinned by the long-term structural demand for healthcare services.”

The secondary listing is expected to become effective later this year.

HSBC and Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking are advising.
