Helena Bonham Carter has completed the purchase of Mill House, in Sutton Courtenay, Oxon, for £2.9m.
The guide price had been £2.5m.
Helena Bonham Carter is the great-granddaughter of Herbert Henry Asquith, the prime minister who took Britain into the First World War.
