Britain loses favour as hub for HNWIs

Britain is losing its reputation as a hub and home for the wealthy, as hundreds more millionaires left last year.

In 2022 a further 1,400 high-net-worth individuals, defined as those with wealth in excess of $1m, left Britain, according to data from Henley & Partners, the citizenship advisory firm. There are thought to be about 737,000 such millionaires in the UK currently.

The trend has been apparent since the Brexit vote in 2016. Since then an estimated 12,000 millionaires have left the UK for pastures new.
