Brookfield Properties UK has promoted Matt Hern to head of operations.
Hern has been with the business for more than a decade, working on schemes including Principal Place, London Wall Place, 99 Bishopsgate and Aldgate Tower.
His new role will see Hern will overseeing the engineering, technical and property management of Brookfield Properties’ 5m sq ft London office portfolio. He will also lead decarbonisation efforts across the company’s buildings and supply chain.
He replaces Steven Cheshire who is retiring from the business next year.
Brookfield Properties UK president Dan Scanlon said Hern’s “extensive and varied experience at Brookfield Properties positions him well for this next chapter”.
Hern added that he was “delighted to have been entrusted with the operational oversight of our London portfolio”.
“I have inherited a great team from Steven who are committed to delivering first-class service across our London portfolio,” he said. “I look forward to working with them, alongside our occupiers and supply partners, to continue providing a best-in-class experience.”
