BMW has denied it plans to sell its Oxford Mini plant to Chinese carmaker Great Wall, after Germany’s Manager Magazin reported that the move was being considered as part of a wider overhaul of the loss-making brand.
BMW said there was “no question” over the future of the plant and that “there are no plans to sell the Mini plant in Oxford”.
Oxford is the historic home of BMW’s Mini brand. The cars have been made there since 1913.
