Capital & Centric has acquired the historic Chapeltown Warehouse in Manchester’s Piccadilly East, with plans to transform the former mill into its new headquarters.
C&C bought the premises in an off-market transaction for an undisclosed sum and will create 20,000 sq ft of new workspace across four storeys. The ground floor will become a café bar and social hub for businesses and residents from its owner-occupier community at the adjacent Phoenix block and Crusader Mill.
C&C expects the workspace to be ready in 2023.
Adam Higgins, co-founder at C&C, said: “While we will keep all of the historic features, such as the cast-iron beams and exposed brickwork, we also want to give it the trademark Capital & Centric design edge too.”
C&C has been investing in the Piccadilly East neighbourhood since 2015. Projects include its Leonardo Hotel, which opened in May, Ferrous homes, and The Cabin, a space for community pop-up events.
C&C represented themselves in the transaction.
