Carter Jonas appointed as joint agent on Manchester logistics scheme

North West construction group Russells has appointed Carter Jonas as joint agent alongside Colliers and CBRE on the HPark scheme in Heywood, Greater Manchester.

The appointment is expected to support Russells’ growth ambitions in the industrial and logistics sector.

HPark is a new 120-acre distribution and industrial park, with outline planning consent for up to 1.9m sq ft of space across six prime grade-A facilities ranging in size from 39,000 sq ft to 688,000 sq ft. The largest distribution building, known as H-688 (pictured), spans 688,000 sq ft and has full detailed planning approval, with construction set to begin as soon as an operator is signed.

HPark is the commercial element of the South Heywood Masterplan, a mixed-use regeneration development being brought forward by Russells’ development arm, Russell LDP. The wider scheme will deliver up to 1,000 homes and community facilities including a new school and a sports hub.

The move follows Richard Harris’s move to Carter Jonas’ Leeds office from JLL’s industrial and logistics team. He will be tasked with advising on and expanding the scheme’s offering to appeal to occupiers across the region.

Harris said: “The recent extended planning permission and increased power capacity puts HPark in a prime position. My experience in the industry, alongside Russell LDP’s ambitions, will see opportunities driven for the scheme and continued value added.”
