Christie & Co boasts strong transactional recovery

Christie Group has reported a 6.6% increase in revenue to £35.3m in the six months ended 30 June as it reported a bounce-back in transactional activity.

The group, which operates the Christie & Co property advisory alongside finance and insurance business, said it had seen a strong recovery in transactional brokerage activity in the UK, with 517 units sold in the first half of the year, up from 376 in the same period last year.

The UK performance was offset by a weak H1 in its international business, however, where it said that transaction timings were significantly weighted to the second half of the year.

Looking ahead, the group said it expected a stronger second half performance and that it was on track to return to transactional volumes more in line with those achieved in 2021 and 2022.

Chief executive Dan Prickett said: “We have delivered a strong recovery in our UK transactional brokerage activity in H1 alongside positive growth performances in our finance brokerage business and our hospitality stock audit business. We anticipate a much stronger H2 result and a return to a profitable full-year performance.”
