Coffer Corporate Leisure relaunches as Portland Leisure Advisers

Coffer Corporate Leisure, the leisure focused property investment and M&A boutique, has relaunched as Portland Leisure Advisers after leaving the Coffer Group.

Coffer Corporate Leisure was founded by Mark Sheehan and David Coffer 19 years ago as a standalone vehicle within the Coffer Group, quickly establishing itself on the back of big sale and leasebacks for Little Chef and LA Fitness and the sale of Patisserie Valerie. It has always worked closely with leisure agency Davis Coffer Lyons and will continue to do so in its next incarnation.

Sheehan said: “We are relaunching outside of Coffer Group and assuming ownership but will continue a very close relationship with Davis Coffer Lyons on the occupational side.”

He said that Portland, which takes its name from Coffer Group’s Portland Place offices, will continue to offer the same specialist investment advice to the leisure and alternative sectors.

Sheehan was among those to pay tribute to David Coffer, who died last month, describing him as “the most supportive and loyal person”.

Sheehan will run Portland with fellow directors Lawrence Telford and Jack Silvani and associate director Jack Higgitt.

Speaking for Coffer Group, Adam Coffer said: “This is a natural progression which has been planned many months. Our working relationship will continue to be as strong as ever. It has been and will continue to be a potent alliance.”
