James Beckham, Cushman & Wakefield’s head of central London investment, is leaving the firm to join CBRE, where he will be executive director and head of London investment properties.
At C&W his role will be taken up jointly by the co-heads of the City and West End capital markets, Martin Lay and Robert Womack.
One of the City’s best-known investment agents, he acted in the £1.15bn sale of the Leadenhall Building, EC3, for British Land and Oxford Properties and bought 20 Fenchurch Street, EC3, for LKK for £1.3bn.
At CBRE Beckham “will work closely with David Green, chairman of CBRE London investment properties and with other senior members of 40-strong team including Stephen Pearson and James Hammond who lead CBRE’s Investment Properties teams in the City and the West End respectively; Peter Arduino, who heads the Greater London investment properties team; and with Chris Brett, head of CBRE’s international capital markets team in the UK.”
CBRE’s managing director of London, Adam Hetherington, said: “James will complement the strengths of our team and will help us to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.”
