EG Tech Awards 2020 shortlist announced

With more entries than ever, the EG Tech Awards 2020 in September will showcase the very best in technology and real estate in a year of unprecedented change.

“What a difference a year makes” has become something of an overused phrase when it comes to technology in real estate. That doesn’t make it any less true in such a fast-moving sector, but if we aren’t careful it could quickly lose its meaning.

Not this year, though. There can be few sentiments quite so fitting when it comes to comparing 2020 with its predecessor. Not just for real estate and technology, but for the whole world.

Things are different now on a completely new level. From the way we work to the way we live, and from how we interact to how we travel, everything has changed. And, in many cases, technology in general and real estate technology in particular will be the driving force behind creating a smarter, healthier and safer world post-pandemic.

Whether it’s an acceleration of virtual viewings, a requirement for touchless technology or a sharper focus on why – and how – we collect building data, technology will play a crucial role in how we collectively tackle unprecedented uncertainty. That is why it was so encouraging to be inundated with entries for this year’s awards. Our shortlisted companies, organisations and individuals represent the best of the best in tech and real estate at a time when a drive for change has never been more important.

After a hugely successful day of virtual judging sessions, all expertly navigated by our crack team of fantastic Tech Awards judges, the EG Tech Awards 2020 on 10 September will also get the virtual treatment. But forget a grainy Zoom call with a dodgy background. Guests can look forward to a suitably high-tech, immersive experience. So, make sure those connections are fired up and put the champagne on ice.

Congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted for the Tech Awards 2020 – a year of great challenges but also great achievements in the face of adversity.
