Eurostar has signed a new lease for 11,722 sq ft at Hammerson’s former HQ in King’s Cross, marking a slight downsize on its existing office.
The international high-speed train operator has struck a deal with landlord Deka to take a 10-year lease at 90 York Way, N1, at £79.50 per sq ft.
Eurostar has occupied 14,512 sq ft on the sixth floor of the building since 2021. At the time, Boots sublet the space to Eurostar as part of a short-term assignment, with the retailer on a sublease from Hammerson.
It is understood the subleasing deal was due to expire next month, with Eurostar taking the space that Hammerson vacated on a longer-term lease directly with Deka.
Hammerson has relocated its London headquarters to the West End, also downsizing from its former premises in King’s Place, where it occupied around 40,000 sq ft.
The listed owner has moved to Marble Arch House at 66 Seymour Street, W1.
Chief executive Rita-Rose Gagné previously told EG the REIT was looking at rightsizing its office space to improve its internal operations and cost efficiencies.
