First letting at Helical’s Barts Square scheme

AshbyCapital and Helical have pre-let 55,000 sq ft on a 15-year lease to digital advertising company The Trade Desk at under-construction office block One Bartholomew, EC1.

The 12-storey, 215,000 sq ft building, designed by Sheppard Robson, is part of Helical’s Barts Square development, which was affected earlier this year by the collapse of contractor Carillion.

The first project stalled for several days before contractors Mace and McLaren were brought in to continue the first phases, which included the office space and the first batch of residential units.

One Bartholomew is due to complete later this year.

The Trade Desk, which is currently based on Farringdon Road, is to occupy the top three floors paying above £80 per sq ft.

Peter Ferrari, chief executive at AshbyCapital, said: “This significant preletting to a global media tech company several months before completion is testament to the wide-ranging demand for high-quality office space close to the new Elizabeth Line station at Farringdon.
