Gove eyes offices-to-schools spree

The government is embarking on a major private property acquisition drive for Michael Gove’s free schools programme.

The Department for Education has allocated £5bn to spend on new school places in the UK during this parliament and a further £2bn up to 2017.

This week two London properties were bought from private landlords for school projects.
