Green light for largest ever Leeds office

McLaren Property has been given the green light by Leeds City Council to build a 330,000sq ft office development in the city centre.

Leeds City Council approved plans for the developer to build the 17-storey scheme, located on Wellington Street.

According to a statement released by the developer, the scheme will be one of the largest workspaces in the city once completed. A 110-space underground car park will also be built.

McLaren will focus on wooing occupiers who “value an exceptional level of amenity, high quality service and the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded businesses”.

The developer is aiming to start construction work by the end of the year.

Oliver Westray, Development Director for McLaren Property, said: “We have focused on designing a forward-thinking, tech-enabled development with large efficient floor plates that will attract both indigenous occupiers and inward movers.

“We are excited to progress with our plans following approval, and look forward to seeing this major scheme come to fruition for Leeds.”

OBI and Colliers are agents on the scheme.
