Activist investor Lighthouse Capital has been given a seat on Hammerson’s board.
The South African investor has a 15.1% shareholding in the FTSE250 retail landlord.
Hammerson announced the appointment as it confirmed the departure of its chairman David Tyler, who will be replaced by former Land Securities chief executive Rob Noel.
Des de Beer, who only joined Lighthouse Capital’s board last month, will now sit on the board of Hammerson.
