Hockney pub fails to sell at auction

A village pub in the heart of Hockney country in East Yorkshire was one of the unsold lots at the Harman Healy auction last week.

The former public house in the village of Langtoft, near Driffield in the Yorkshire Wolds, was one of 35 lots offered at the auction in Kensington Town Hall, W8, on 8 August.

The Ship Inn lies close to a number of locations used in David Hockney paintings, including the work Tracks Into Wheat Field Near Langtoft.
