The average house price has risen by £33,000 over the past year, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.
That is a rise of 12.6% from October 2021 to October 2022. The annual increase in September was 9.9%.
Across the UK the average house price in October was £296,000.
But while prices rose by 0.3% across the UK in October, they fell in London, by 0.9%.
