IM to partner Birmingham on Peddimore industrial project

Birmingham City Council has selected IM Properties as its preferred development partner on the first phase of its Peddimore industrial scheme in Sutton Coldfield.

The overall scheme, which launched at MIPIM last year, will transform 175 acres into 484, 375 sq ft of new manufacturing and logistics space and create a new junction on the A38.

Midlands-based IM properties will develop 91 acres in phase one. The remainder of the land will stay in the council’s ownership, and the council plans to market sites to major manufacturing occupiers.

It is the second scheme IM Properties will work on in collaboration with the council, having delivered the Wholesale Markets project at industrial scheme The Hub, north of the city, at the end of last year.

Birmingham City Council leader Ian Ward said IM Properties had shown a “clear commitment” to work with the City council to deliver the project.

Peddimore forms a key part of the Birmingham Development Plan, which was adopted in January last year.
