Legal & General Property has let the fourth and final shop on its redevelopment site at Faraday retail park in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, to JD Sports.
The sports retailer, which signed a 10-year lease for 7,300 sq ft, plans to open in time for Christmas trading. It joins tenants Mothercare, Currys and Outfit, who all signed 10-year leases in November 2010.
The £9m development has created four new shops totalling over 41,000 sq ft on the former Tesco supermarket site.
James Whitehill, senior fund manager at Legal & General Property, said: “We believe that its presence will not only complement the existing tenant line-up, but significantly enhance the retail offer, driving footfall as well as providing an excellent platform for future asset management initiatives.”
Colliers International and Appleton Craig acted on behalf of LGP; Wilkinson Williams advised JD Sports.
