Jones Lang LaSalle has poached a team of four directors from CB Richard Ellis to open its second office in Italy.
The group has recruited Luca Di Nisio as head of agency and Fabrizio Spaziani as head of capital markets for its new office in Rome.
They will be joined by Oliver Westgarth, who will cover the agency market and Fabien Mutinelli, who becomes a director of capital markets.
Pierre Marin and Patrick Parkinson, joint managing directors of JLL in Italy, said: “We have been active in the Rome market for more than five years acting on behalf of clients including Exxon Mobile, General Motors and a number of Italian real estate funds.
“We believe this is the right time to cement our presence in the city by opening a new office and making these significant new appointments.
“This combination will allow us to enhance our service offer to clients locally and across Central Italy.”
Alastair Hughes, CEO Europe, added: “This opening is an important part of our strategy to expand our local presence in key markets across Europe.
“Italy is a growth market for us and this investment will add well proven, high quality people to our firm, complementing our existing teams in Italy and enabling us to provide an enhanced level of service to our clients.”
JLL intends to grow its staff number in Italy to 80 by the end of 2007.
The firm opened its first Italian office in Milan in 1990 and currently employs 40 in the city and 30 on-site facilities services employs across the country.
