London Square has added a series of directors and new schemes to its affordable housing business.
The developer has appointed Barbara Richardson (pictured) as managing director of Square Roots.
Richardson has been managing director of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead property business for the past four years and also held non-executive director roles with Vale of Aylesbury Housing and Medway Development Company.
She joins Square Roots chairman Simon Dudley. The for-profit affordable housing business has also appointed Waltham Forest council leader Clare Coghill as a director to the company.
The developer is progressing a number of new schemes, with plans being worked up for 161 homes at Fenwick’s Thames Side Wharf development on Vicarage Road in Kingston-Upon-Thames, Surrey.
A second Kingston site will bring this to 175 and the developer said it hopes to bring forward a 244-home scheme on Edgware Road, W2, shortly, alongside further schemes in Romford, Essex, and Staines, Surrey.
Work is already under way on the first Square Roots scheme at Axion House in Lewisham, SE13, on behalf of Federated Hermes’ build-to-rent platform Hestia.
Together the sites will provide 700 homes under shared ownership and affordable rent tenures.
London Square chief executive Adam Lawrence said: “We have now confirmed six new sites in well-connected places where people want to live as the first developments for Square Roots and we are looking for further sites to expand our affordable portfolio.”
