Niche retail and leisure agency Metis Real Estate Advisors has hired Peter Barker from fast-fashion jewellery chain Lovisa.
As property director of Lovisa, Barker drove the brand’s growth from its debut Leeds store in 2015 to more than 40 stores across the UK.
Before that, Barker was head of Northern retail at Savills, where key projects included acting for UBS on Primark’s Birmingham flagship.
Stephen Tregenza, director of retail agency at Metis, which acts on UK acquisitions for Lovisa, said: “Throughout his career, Peter has visited and worked with an unrivalled range of shopping centres, and this specialist experience adds a new dimension to our team.”
Over the past year, Metis has leased over 500,000 sq ft in leisure and retail spaces in the North. Clients include Liverpool ONE and Manchester Arndale.
