Manchester basks in Commonwealth Games afterglow

Manchester is still enjoying the benefits of staging the Commonwealth Games in the summer with £600m of investment that has helped kick-start regeneration in the east of the city.

The specially-created stadium for the Games is the focus of a 10-year scheme to bring jobs and investment to the poor estates of Beswick, Clayton and Openshaw.

Urban Splash is leading the rebuilding of the Cardroom estate as a £200m mixed-use development called New Islington.
