Manchester set to approve Forshaw’s £75m resi tower and hotel

Forshaw Land & Property is on track to secure approval for the development of 24-storey mixed-use scheme in Manchester.

Planning officers have recommended the local council approve the scheme at the next planning committee meeting on 28 June.

The developer submitted plans for 224 homes and 87 apart hotel studios on a land at Cornbrook Road earlier this year.

The Leach Rhodes Walker-designed plans include separate lobbies for the homes and apart hotel and a café, flexible commercial space, and a 143-space cycle store at ground level. The first floor would contain meeting rooms, amenity areas and a gym. Two of the meeting rooms would be available for local community use.

The site forms a part of the Cornbrook Hub strategic regeneration framework jointly developed by Manchester and Trafford councils. The document identifies opportunities and promotes high-density commercially-led, mixed use developments that would create a gateway to the city centre.

The one-acre site is part of the wider Manchester Waters masterplan being delivered by Peel Land & Property.
