The Mayor of London’s police department is in discussions with developer Capital & Counties (Capco) for the potential purchase of the Met’s counter terrorism HQ in Earl’s Court, suggesting plans to turn the building into flats have been abandoned.
Capco released a statement on Thursday confirming it was negotiating with The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), which is acting on the Metropolitan Police’s behalf, over the future of the Empress State Building.
The building is home to around 4,000 Met staff and is leased by MOPAC on behalf of the Met on a deal which expires next year.
