This week’s appointments and promotions

Colliers International has appointed James Cubitt as head of its Birmingham office. He succeeds Jon Cookson, who returns full-time to his role as head of corporate restructuring. Cubitt joined the firm in 2006 and is joint head of valuation in Birmingham.

Amy Hitchings has joined Acorn Property Group as manager for the land team. She will be responsible for delivering a key housing regeneration site in central Bristol and seeking new land opportunities in the region.

HUB has promoted Damien Sharkey to development director. He will be responsible for managing and reviewing the development process for all of the residential developer’s projects.

James Del Mar has joined Rural Solutions as executive director. He has more than 25 years’ experience and joins from Knight Frank where he was head of the rural consultancy.

IAM Sold has promoted Julian Lavender to business development director for the Midlands and Southern regions. David Vine has been made business development director for the North of England, North Wales and Scotland.

Birmingham-based consultancy Pennycuick Collins has promoted Samuel Boot to partner, James Bridge to associate partner in the commercial team, and Dale Jones to associate partner in the residential block management team.

Aston Rose has appointed Eloise Price as a graduate surveyor in the building consultancy team.

Michael Stoop is returning to Winkworth Franchising as a consultant after 25 years. His remit is to expand Winkworth’s franchise network.

Jazmin Stones has joined SDL Auction Partners’ head office as sales and operations manager to co-ordinate the growth of the partnership network. She previously worked for Purplebricks.

Industrial developer Chancerygate has appointed Richard Bains as managing director. He replaces Eddie Cook who retires at the end of the year. Bains joins from Rockspring where he was head of the UK business

Marino Costi has joined London auction house Phillip Arnold Auctions as an auction valuer.

Liam Davies has joined Cushman & Wakefield’s development consulting team as an associate in Birmingham. He joins from the city council where he has worked on the delivery of city centre projects, including the redevelopment of Paradise Circus and New Street station.

Bruton Knowles has appointed Daniel Gadd as a graduate surveyor in its Cardiff office.

Patrick Symington has joined the board of social housing provider Stonewater as a non executive director and chair of the risk and assurance committee.

Pastor Real Estate has appointed sales negotiator Philip Cook to the sales team. He will focus on developing the business in Kensington and Chelsea.

MAG Property, the property and development arm of the UK airports group, has appointed Andrew Blackshaw as strategic asset management director. He joins from Deloitte and will be responsible for MAG’s investment estate.

Paul Craig has joined Impact Healthcare REIT as a non executive director and a member of the management engagement committee.

Retail real estate fund and asset manager Pradera has appointed John Hopkins as finance director for its Pradera European Retail Parks Fund. He previously worked with Ares Management, Baring Asset Management and Société Générale.

Former Capita Real Estate managing director Alan Dornford has joined Chelsfield as a director.

Hartnell Taylor Cook has made the following appointments: Jonathan Marwood, partner; Nic Rumble, senior associate and head of residential development; Chris Wright, senior associate; Robin Castle, director, project and building consultancy; Rhys Davies, senior associate, project and building consultancy; and Jack Davies, senior surveyor, retail team.

Charlotte Bland has been appointed to the board of directors at Caxtons.

London leisure agent Emma Flather has joined Hanover Green Retail to lead its restaurant leasing team. She joins from Davis Coffer Lyons where she worked in the development and London estate leasing team.

Kenneth Maxwell has joined the commercial property team at law firm Veale Wasbrough Vizards.

Hodes Weill & Associates has appointed Jonathan Read as a principal in its London office. He will have primary responsibility for institutional coverage in Europe. Read previously worked for Angelo, Gordon & Co.

Mark Wilkinson has joined DI Properties as an executive director in the land, development and investment agency team in London. He joins from Knight Frank.

Former HSBC head of EMEA and Americas real estate Richard Choi has joined Damac as senior vice president of business development, based in London.

Powell Williams has appointed David Hollingsworth to partner. Natasha Tyler and Adam Farrer have been promoted to associates.

Nehla Krir has been appointed global head of sustainability at AXA IM – Real Assets. She will be responsible for raising AXA IM – Real Assets’ sustainability profile.

WilmerHale has appointed Justin Watts and Matthew Shade as partners in its London litigation practice.

Engineering and design consultancy Sweco UK has opened an office at Durham Tess Valley Business Centre, Stockton-on-Tees TS19 0GA.
