Places for People Capital and Cubex have formed a partnership to bring forward development in Bristol city centre.
The partnership will see PfP Capital fund large-scale development and regeneration for Bristol-based developer Cubex.
They will work on opportunities around the Frome Gateway area of Bristol, with future long-term development expected in South Wales.
Frome Gateway is a largely industrial site which the River Frome passes through. It borders Newfoundland Way and Riverside Park.
The partners will seek to deliver more than 1,500 homes across a range of tenures, a hotel, workspace and student accommodation in the early phases. This will be complemented by significant infrastructure enhancements, particularly around the River Frome and the M32.
They are currently appointing a masterplanner and hope to secure planning approval for the scheme in the next 18 months.
Gavin Bridge, executive director at Cubex, said: “We are committed to creating better, more inclusive cities, balanced communities and places that really work for people.
“We are currently pursuing a number of development opportunities and are excited to forge ahead with these.”
Chris Jones, managing director at PfP Capital, said: “Successful placemaking relies on developer and investor having a common goal and a close working relationship to make it a reality.”
