Property developer Richard Carr has submitted plans for a £200m residential, hotel and leisure scheme in Bournemouth.
The proposals, submitted by Carr’s company Fortitudo, include 350 apartments for rent and 250 apartments for sale, a nightclub and 10-pin bowling alley, 15,000 sq ft of bars and restaurants and a cinema.
They also feature a 120-bedroom hotel and a 600-capacity multi-storey car park.
The plans involve bulldozing the existing South Western House, which was formerly home to HM Revenue & Customs. Fortitudo said retaining and reusing the existing office building was “not viable”.
Developers hope planning permission will be granted this year, with the scheme completed by 2027.
Carr said he hoped the scheme would “rejuvenate a key part of central Bournemouth”.
