WATCH More than 3,500 property professionals gathered at Dorney Lake near Windsor, Berkshire, on 1 July, to don wetsuits, Lycra and trainers to take part in the annual JLL Property Triathlon.
The full-day event, which includes a 2.5k swim down the lake, a duathlon and fancy dress races, is now in its 15th year and has to date raised more than £2m for charity.
This year’s event, organised by JLL with Human Race, raised money for the World Wildlife Foundation. JLL has teamed up with the WWF to raise money for the charity over the next three years. Alongside the triathlon, the firm will be undertaking a range of other challenges to raise money for the charity.
JLL UK chief executive Stephanie Hyde said: “It was fantastic to see the real estate community turn out in force for this brilliant event. This year we welcomed more than 3,500 participants who got to experience the joy of competing at Dorney Lake.
“The great things that characterise our industry were on show – the commitment, sportsmanship and collaboration – along with some good-natured competitiveness. The event also enabled us to present our new charity partner, WWF, with a cheque for more than £179,000. I’d like to thank all of those involved for their generosity and I am already looking forward to next year’s event.”
It was the first time Hyde had been able to attend the event since taking over as chief executive of JLL, but she got stuck into the team spirit, working as event crew handing out water to thirsty runners and medals to celebratory competitors.
