PRUPIM lodges Reading railway station plans

PRUPIM has lodged plans for the first privately-financed new railway station in the South of England for 50 years at its giant Green Park business park on the outskirts of Reading.

Reading GreenPark Station

The government gave the green light for the PRP Architects-designed station last summer.

Detailed plans have now been lodged with Reading council with trains scheduled to begin stopping at Reading GreenPark Station by the end of 2008.

The station comprises five train carriage length platforms with canopies above, a station concourse and pedestrian bridge across the tracks.

PRUPIM’s Tim Davis said: “Reading GreenPark station will underpin GreenPark’s position as one of the most accessible business locations in the country.

“It has been part of our long-term plan and reinforces our commitment both to sustainable development and the future of South Reading, where it will benefit existing and new occupiers, residents and the wider community.”
