Rowers are objecting to a new pier planned for the River Thames near Putney.
They say that one of the country’s best racing stretches – used for the Oxford and Cambridge boat race – will be rendered “useless, or at least dangerous” if Thames Clippers is allowed to build the pier.
The company wants the new pier for its Uber Boats service. The planning application is being considered by Wandsworth Council.
