Prince and Princess Michael of Kent have earned £5.75m from the sale of their private Gloucestershire home.
They bought Nether Lypiatt Manor, near Stroud, in 1981 for £300,000.
A deal on their rented Kensington Palace flats ends in three years when they may have to find a home at open-market prices.
