Ewan McGregor’s new £2.3m home in Scotland is at the centre of an investigation by council officials into claims of unauthorised works.
Last year the actor bought an 18th-century country retreat in Perthshire set in more than 18 acres of land and gardens.
The Trainspotting and Star Wars star had been given permission by Perth and Kinross Council to erect a replacement garage and to create a new master bedroom and bathroom suite. But the local authority received a complaint that “alleged unauthorised works” have been carried out on the building. The planning department has launched an enforcement inquiry into the matter and will make a decision by March.
Meanwhile, a 15th century Scottish castle has come to the market with Strutt & Parker for offers over £2.3m, along with the chance to buy a barony for a further £100,000.
