Thames-side homes achieve 67% premium

Homes for sale on the Thames or with views of the river can command premiums of up to 67% according to research from Cluttons.

Cluttons said Southbank riverside properties achieve the greatest premium of up to £2,000 sq ft, compared to those without views of £1,200 sq ft.

Similarly, prime rental properties can achieve up to 73% more in asking rent.

The research shows prime Wapping riverfront rental accommodation achieves £950 per week, while Southbank riverfront rents attract £1,500 per week.

Zoe Innes, Cluttons head of lettings, said, “Unsurprisingly, the highest prime riverfront rental premiums are located to the east of Westminster Bridge where there is more residential stock, especially in converted warehouses and purpose-built towers.

“However, the highest rental premiums are for homes south of the River Thames with outlooks across to St Pauls, the City and Canary Wharf.”
