High street retailer WH Smith said its shift from the high street to travel hubs was bearing fruit and expected its full-year results to be in line with expectations.
In a trading update ahead of its results for the year to August 31, due to be published on October 11, the purveyor of stationery, gifts and books said its travel business was continuing to “perform strongly”, while its high street business was “in line with expectations”.
Like many high street retailers, WH Smith has suffered falling sales in recent months, and pointed to “uncertainty in the broader economic environment” in June.
