Travelodge to double in Herts

Travelodge wants to double its estate in Hertfordshire and add a further 10 hotels across the county.

Travelodge is looking for new sites in Berkhamsted, Harpenden, Hertford, Hoddesdon, London Colney, Potters Bar, Radlett, Rickmansworth, St Albans and Welwyn Garden City.

The hotel chain currently has nine hotels in the Hertfordshire area at Baldock Hinxworth, Borehamwood, Borehamwood Studio Way, Cheshunt, Hatfield Central, Hemel Hempstead and Watford Central.

Tony O’Brien, Travelodge’s UK development director, said: “Hertfordshire is one of our top performing counties in the UK, with demand growing at great pace for good quality branded budget hotel rooms from business and leisure travellers. In response to this growing need, we have extended our target list for the region and we are going to start looking for new sites in ten locations across the county.”
