Restaurant and hotel group Various Eateries plans to open up to 13 sites in its next expansion phase.
The group, which has 12 Coppa Club clubhouse sites across the UK, said revenue had grown by 12% to $45.5m in the year to 1 October 2023, largely driven by new site openings.
It opened one Coppa Club and two Noci Italian restaurants during the period, taking its total sites to 18.
It now plans to open up to 10 Noci sites and up to three Coppa Club sites in the next phase of roll-out, which is expected to last two to three years.
Executive chair Andy Bassadone said there was “significant potential for the expansion of Coppa Club, with the next opening in Cardiff this spring”.
He added that there are “over 100 suitable sites in the UK” for a Noci restaurant. The group raised £10.1m in December to fund the expansion.
However, it made a pretax loss of £6.7m, following the previous year’s loss of £7.2m
While Noci, its mid-market Italian restaurant brand, takes around 3,000 sq ft of space, the Coppa Club concept, which is pitched as an “all-day clubhouse”, ranges from 5,000 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft. Current locations include Bath, London and Brighton.
