Sir Stuart Lipton, WiredScore and SEGRO were among the headline winners at last night’s EG Awards.
Lipton was honoured for his five decades of changing London’s skyline with the Outstanding Contribution to Property Award.
WiredScore won the EG London Award in recognition of the business quickly becoming the benchmark used to judge the digital connectivity of buildings. Demonstrating how far the business has come in a short period of time, at last year’s event the business’s UK figureheads, William Newton and Tom Redmayne, won the Rising Star Awards.
SEGRO was named National Property Company of the Year and Industrial Company of the Year at the awards, in front of an audience of almost 1,000 senior property figures at the Grosvenor House Hotel, W1.
The adviser categories were more evenly spread. The National Adviser of the Year title went to Gerald Eve, following its acquisition of five teams from Deloitte. CBRE was named Global Adviser of the Year while Savills won the residential award, Lunson Mitchenall the retail trophy and Knight Frank industrial.
The Deal of the Year trophy was presented by awards host, comedienne Katherine Ryan, to Battersea Power Station Development Company. Its prelet to Apple of 500,000 square foot of the Power Station’s Boiler House was described by the judges as “a standout deal that is going to have a huge impact in London and nationally”.
EG editor Damian Wild, who chaired the judging panel, said: “This year’s awards were as close fought as ever. With two days of the judging at the top of the BT Tower, we’re confident we have a roster of winners who deserve the admiration of their peers.”
