Wonder Woman too late to help Cineworld

Cinema operator Cineworld is blaming weak performance on the studios, complaining about delays releasing tent-pole movies. The chain has issued a statement stating that trading would be ‘slightly below management’s expectations’ after films such as Avatar 2 and Wonder Woman 1984 were rescheduled to 2020. Last February Cineworld became the world’s second largest cinema operator with 786 cinemas after buying Regal Entertainment in the US for $5.4bn. Cineworld has said earnings for the second half of the year were looking healthier, thanks to partly to Frozen 2. Any further weakness in the share value could see the chain being taken
