YTL Developments has secured planning approval for the first phase of its £800m redevelopment of Bristol’s Filton Airfield. The Malaysian conglomerate will develop the former airfield into a new neighbourhood, with the first phase comprising 278 homes and public space. It will be called Brabazon, named after the first commercial airliner at the 350-acre airfield. There will be 127 family houses and 151 flats, 16% of which will be for social rent or shared ownership.
