The 13th annual JLL Property Triathlon and Property Swim raised a record £231,572 for homeless charity Crisis this year.
More than 3,750 competitors from across the real estate industry headed to Dorney Lake in Berkshire on 28 June in a bid to make their mark and raise a phenomenal amount of money to help Crisis in its work to end homelessness.
Since its launch in 2007, the JLL Property Triathlon has raised £2m for charity.
JLL UK chief executive Chris Ireland said: “Each year the JLL Property Triathlon gets bigger and better. I was really pleased that more than 3,750 competitors got to experience the joy of competing at Dorney Lake but, beyond this, I was thrilled that collectively we managed to raise such a significant amount, £231,572.02, for our charity partner, Crisis.
“This beats our 2018 total and we are grateful for the generosity of all those involved.”
Crisis chief executive Jon Sparkes added: “We’d like to thank everyone who took time to compete in this year’s event, which raised a record amount of money. On any one night in England, more than 3,500 people sleep rough. In London, more than 8,000 people slept on the streets last year. Tens of thousands more are stuck in squats, hostels or on the floors of friends and families.
“We are extremely grateful that, as the homelessness crisis continues to deepen, so too has the enthusiasm and generosity of supporters.
“Last year’s fundraising contributed to supporting 638 people into housing via the JLL UK and Crisis partnership, and we look forward to using the money raised this year to help many more people on their journey out of homelessness.”
